For this year’s National Hydropower Day on Aug. 24th, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO) shared a few examples to illustrate why hydropower is key to a clean energy future.
While the world is working to increase its renewable energy capacity- much of that capacity is coming in the form of solar and wind energy; and these intermittent forms of energy need a steady partner to insure a reliable and resilient power grid.
