Plasma injector (PI3) has alreadt achieved the temperature and energy confinement times required by LM26.

General Fusion, like many other fusion companies, has big plans to get a commercial plant operating in the near future. The company announced new funding last week that will help with plans to build a demonstration machine in its home province of British Columbia- a magnetized target fusion machine (LM26) that is expected to reach fusion conditions by 2025. General Fusion will be working to validate the data gathered from LM26 and incorporate it into the design of the company’s planned commercial scale demonstration in the UK, working closely with the UK Atomic Energy Authority.
