The annual U.S. Energy and Employment Report (USEER), released for 2021, found that in spite of economic uncertainty the energy sector experienced positive job growth.

The USEER is a comprehensive study designed to track and understand employment trends across the energy sector and within key energy technologies.

The report showed that energy sector jobs increased 4.0% from 2020 to 2021 and outpaced overall U.S. employment, which climbed 2.8% in the same period.

Overall, the total number of energy jobs increased from 7.5 million in 2020 to more than 7.8 million in 2021.

More than 3 million jobs, 40% of total energy jobs, support reducing U.S. emissions to zero across several sectors.
