CAES is founded on three pillars: research, education, and innovation.

The Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES) is a consortium consisting of the Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory (INL) and Idaho’s public research universities: Boise State University, Idaho State University, and University of Idaho.

It closely integrates the universities and national laboratory to solve critical energy challenges while providing workforce training opportunities and encouraging economic development in communities throughout the region.

CAES’s cutting-edge research and programming pairs university students with INL researchers and industry partners.
