The Center of Excellence hosted Governor Inslee, First Spouse Trudi, and partners at Centralia College on Friday, January 19th. The visit highlighted a number of clean energy workforce strategies, developments, and partnerships- including comments from partners on some amazing projects taking place in the state.

  • Avista: 9-month Student Craft Program
  • Tacoma Power: internal mentorship program
  • REVIT: a project bringing clean energy education to high school students; a collaboration between Lewis County Transit, Chehalis School District, and Centralia School District.

After the initial meeting, all were invited to take a fieldtrip onboard a Lewis County Transit electric bus to learn about zero-emission transit and charging systems.

“Clean energy jobs are popping up across Washington. On Friday, Trudi and I had an inspiring conversation with the folks at the Center of Excellence for Clean Energy at Centralia College. As a key partner in the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub, supported by the Climate Commitment Act, the center is a pillar in Washington’s transition to clean energy.” – post on Governor Inslee’s Facebook page
