After an announcement Tuesday, Oregon is now closer to commercially developing and producing offshore wind energy after the federal government has finalized two areas along the Oregon coast for floating offshore wind farms. The two zones cover about 195,000 acres in southern Oregon- one off the coast of Coos Bay and one near the California state line near Brookings.
