The Washington State Department of Commerce is accepting applications for the Clean Building Performance Grants program, which provides funding to help private and public building owners make improvements to meet Washington’s Clean Buildings Performance Standard.
Building owners are required to comply with the performance standard beginning in 2026, depending on building size. These grants can be used to offset the costs of energy efficiency projects and services that promote compliance with the performance standard, including energy efficiency retrofits and contracted services such as energy audits, energy benchmarking, developing an energy management plan (EMP), and developing an operations and maintenance program (O&M). The application deadline to apply is Jan. 30, 2025.
In addition to the grants, more than 60 Building Efficiency and Clean Operations Network (BEACON) fellows will be trained, credentialed, and paired with communities statewide to help buildings and building owners save energy and money. These fellows will be able to provide many contracted services free of charge.
The CoE and Centralia College are currently host to an SEI Climate Corp fellow providing these services for Tier 1 buildings in Lewis County. Contact us to learn more!
