Students at NewTech Skill Center, a Spokane area high school, received a scholarship from the Center of Excellence for Clean Energy during the 2014 Apprenticeship Conference. Using STEM-based research and methods (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), the students designed and constructed a solar furnace and a small test room.

Funds for the scholarship were raised during an annual Scholarship Auction held during the Energy and Construction Best Practices Summit – which is slated for June 18, 2014, at Centralia College (visit our summit page for details).
