The Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) recently announced the launch of a new Tribal elective module as part of its Energy Industry Fundamentals (EIF) 2.0 curriculum. Sponsored by Enbridge, the module is the first elective addition to EIF and is designed to support energy education and workforce development within Tribal communities.
The Tribal module is available as part of CEWD’s free EIF 2.0 curriculum, a comprehensive 120-hour curriculum that introduces high school and college students to energy systems and pathways. It serves as an elective course in the curriculum, recognizing the importance of Tribal sovereignty as well as the role Tribal communities hold in energy project development and workforce advancement.
“This new module reflects CEWD’s commitment to expanding energy education in ways that are relevant and responsive to different communities,” said Missy Henriksen, executive director of CEWD. “By adding this elective to Energy Industry Fundamentals, we are strengthening the curriculum and offering different perspectives on what shapes essential work in the industry.”
