As the Climate and Energy Education Fellow based in the CoE, Ryan has been building bridges to career pathways in clean energy. They have primarily focused on providing education about clean energy and climate change solutions to local middle and high school students, as well as educators, parents, and other community members.
Ryan has been able to attend a number of college and career fairs, conferences, and classroom visits at a number of schools in Southwest Washington. Classroom visits include a short presentation with an activity where students design a way to capture some sort of energy, such as a power-producing bicycle or even wave-breakers that capture wave energy, and an opportunity to try out a career of their choice in virtual reality.
