Earlier this week, the Center for Energy Workforce Development (CEWD) and the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) announced a strategic curriculum-focused partnership to address workforce development needs in the energy sector.
The partnership was a natural step for the two organizations, bringing together expertise to create a shared approach to meet the growing demand for skilled energy professionals. From this partnership, aspiring energy professionals will be equipped with essential, industry specific skills and knowledge to ensure a highly competent and job-ready workforce. By aligning their industry-recognized resources, CEWD and NCCER will support the development of a sustainable and skilled talent pipeline capable of tackling the energy sector’s evolving challenges.
Boyd Worsham, president and CEO of NCCER, said, “Working with CEWD to develop this curriculum was a natural step in addressing the energy sector’s growing workforce needs. Together, we’re building a program that equips aspiring craft professionals with the skills that employers need and prepares them for long-term success.”
“This partnership marks a significant step forward in addressing the growing demand for more highly skilled workers in the energy industry,” said Missy Henriksen, CEWD’s executive director. “By combining our workforce development expertise with NCCER’s proven training methodologies, we will create standardized, high-quality pathways for individuals to enter and thrive in energy careers.”
