Energy Auditor
What do they do?
Energy auditors inspect, survey and analyze energy flows in a building or system with the objective of understanding the energy dynamics of the system under study. Energy auditors seek opportunities to reduce the amount of energy input into the system without negatively affecting the output. Energy auditors prioritize opportunities for energy savings.
Career path
An Energy Auditor can move into a Meter Electrician apprenticeship.

The types of employers for this position are utility companies, contractors, or self-employment.
Training
Energy Auditor positions require extensive knowledge of, and experience in, construction management and building science. Bachelors degree, or comparable experience, in engineering, environmental science or related disciplines is desired. Typically, employers do not offer training specifically for Energy Auditors. Energy Auditors may participate in vendor specific training or professional development opportunities as approved by their supervisor.
